Paypal is a popular online money transaction site. but i was surprised to see an email from the site to my spam box in nepalsites@gmail.com since i haven't used this mail address for paypal. also it was in the spam box, so it made me suspicious. the email was directly to my mailing address. it went something like this.

For a first thought i thought it was not a spam since it looked like a genuine email source. but since i had no activity from my email address, i was not so sure. later i found that it was actually a fraud spam mail. man, these spam mails can be so tricky at times. the ones with the headings like "get millionaire in a day" are so easy to know to be spam but the ones like these can certainly get you. even with a high filtering sometimes these just pop in your inbox sometimes.

do u get spam mails like these too?

Yeah these guys are really good. Maybe the CIA and NSA could used them. I keep getting messages about activitiy on my account in my e-mail that is not connected to paypal. Plus I dont keep money in there.

I had one. I knew it to be a scam but I clicked it anyway. It took me to a perfect duplicate of the pay pal entry page. So I entered ny email address as Snoddley@canada.net and my password as Whiplash. It opened a page and started asking poor Snodley for his credit card information. I typed in I Know You are a Crook and clicked out. Then I notified Pay Pal but I doubt they did anything.

Just send them to spoof@paypal.com

You'd think people wouldn't fall for those anymore but as they keep get sent out they must get access to some people's accounts.

Any reputable company dealing with money (banks, paypal, etc.) will not include a direct link in an e-mail to you. If they do, always go to the actual site and not through the e-mail link. If they do not direct you at the actual site, then the e-mail was bogus.

Yup sometimes they can be tricky to figure out. I've actually gotten the same type of emails with one of my email accounts that didn't use paypal. The thing is I new it was a fraud email right away just by hovering over the URL link. When I hovered over it I noticed in the status bar on my browser that the address wasn't the same as what was stated in the body email. The domain direction was to a totally different site. Just have to be careful and trust your spam filter sometimes XD

I have been getting TONS of these lately (3 this morning alone). I guess there is nothing PayPal can do about it, but they should be working a little harder than they are towards awareness I think.

Hey guys,

May be someone used your email address to register in the paypal!

That is the most probable reason behind this.

Besides, i dont think these paypal guys do spam around! But who can say :D
